Player Studio

Create and manage reusable video player profiles — configure your player once and embed it anywhere.

What is Player Studio

Player Studio is VideoNest's centralized player configuration tool, located at Media → Player in your dashboard. Instead of configuring each embed separately, you create a named player profile — a saved set of appearance, playback, and control settings — and reference that profile whenever you generate an embed code. Update the profile once, and all embeds using it reflect the change automatically.

Your player profiles

At the top of Player Studio you'll see your player profiles — named configurations such as "My Player." You can have multiple profiles (for example, one for article embeds and one for a homepage hero), but most publishers start with a single default profile. Use the Save, Reset, and Discard controls to manage changes to the active profile.

Embed types

Player Studio generates embed codes for four embed types, each on its own tab:

  • Single Video — embeds one specific video from your Media Library
  • Channel — embeds a full channel player that cycles through your entire library
  • Feed — embeds a player filtered to a specific MRSS or content source feed
  • Playlist — embeds a player that plays a defined playlist in order

How to get an embed code

  1. Go to Media → Player in your VideoNest dashboard.
  2. Select or create a player profile.
  3. Click the tab for the embed type you want (Single Video, Channel, Feed, or Playlist).
  4. For Single Video: select the video from your library.
  5. Set the Aspect Ratio (9:16, 1:1, 16:9, or Custom) and confirm the Responsive (100%) scaling is on if you want a fluid embed.
  6. Click Copy Embed Code to copy the generated iframe to your clipboard.
  7. Paste the code into your website, CMS, or share it with your developer.

Previewing your player

Player Studio includes a live preview panel that reflects your current profile settings in real time. Click Share in the preview area to generate a preview link you can send to stakeholders without requiring them to access your dashboard.

Tip

All player behavior — colors, controls, playback settings — is configured in the player profile. See Player Customization for a full reference of every available setting.
