Importing from Cloud Storage

Choose an import method

Use Google Drive to select files for a one-time upload, Dropbox to ingest a channel's folder, or S3-compatible bucket credentials configured as an ingest source. Storage integration setup happens in the dashboard; the scoped public API does not manage cloud connections.

Google Drive: select individual files

1. Open your channel's upload screen and choose Google Drive.
2. Authorize Google access when prompted and select video files in the picker.
3. Wait while the selected files download into the browser. Review their metadata, then finish the upload in VideoNest.

This imports the files you select. It does not connect a folder for ongoing monitoring or automatically import future files. Keep the page open during download and upload. If the picker is unavailable, download the files from Drive yourself and use direct upload.

Dropbox: channel folder ingestion

Choose Dropbox from the upload screen's import sources and complete authorization. The connection creates channel folders and configures an Ingest path. Add videos directly to that Ingest folder; subfolders are not scanned recursively. New files are copied into VideoNest by ingestion jobs.

If the channel already has another linked sync source, resolve the dashboard's source conflict before connecting Dropbox.

Amazon S3 and S3-compatible buckets

Configure bucket credentials with a destination channel, bucket, access key, secret, region, and optional prefix or compatible endpoint. Enable Ingest Source to pull files into VideoNest. Existing matching files can be imported on the first scan, and later scans identify new objects.

FTP / SFTP and other providers

FTP / SFTP import is marked Coming soon in the upload source selector. Download files from that provider and upload them from your computer. For an automated transfer, your integration can download source files and send them through the public multipart upload API using a key with write_videos.

After import

Allow time for source transfer and video processing, then check your Media Library and review each video's title, description, and tags. Provider sync does not expose a custom frequency or a setting to delete VideoNest videos when source files disappear. Manage removals in VideoNest.
