Importing from Cloud Storage

Connect Google Drive, FTP, Amazon S3, or another cloud provider to sync your video library into VideoNest.

Supported sources

VideoNest supports the following import and sync sources:

  • Google Drive
  • FTP / SFTP (via token)
  • Amazon S3
  • Other cloud providers

You can configure any of these during the channel setup onboarding flow, or connect them at any time from your Media Library.

Google Drive

Connect your Google account when prompted in the Media Library import screen. VideoNest will be authorized to access your Drive and can import video files from it.

You control which folders are synced. Only video files are imported — other file types in your Drive are ignored.

FTP / SFTP

Enter your FTP host, username, and token or password. VideoNest will connect to the server and pull video files automatically.

SFTP is supported using the same setup flow. Use your SFTP hostname and credentials when connecting.

Amazon S3 and other providers

Enter your S3 bucket name and credentials (access key and secret). VideoNest will sync new video files as they appear in the bucket.

For more on the VideoNest + Amazon S3 integration, see Amazon S3 Integration.

Ongoing sync vs. one-time import

Once a cloud source is connected, VideoNest can continue monitoring it for new files and import them automatically. This means any video you add to your Drive or FTP will appear in your Media Library without any additional action.

You can also trigger a one-time import if you only want to pull files in once without setting up an ongoing sync.

ℹ️
Files are imported at their original quality. VideoNest transcodes them for streaming delivery after import. The source file quality is preserved through this process.
