Content Sources

What are Content Sources?

Content Sources let you connect an external feed to your VideoNest channel so that content syncs automatically — no manual uploading required. There are two types of source you can connect:

• MRSS (Media RSS) — a video-specific feed format. When you connect an MRSS source, VideoNest monitors the feed and automatically imports any new videos it finds. This is the right choice if you publish video on another platform and want VideoNest to stay in sync.
• RSS — a standard article/post feed. When you connect an RSS source, VideoNest imports the articles and surfaces them in your Articles list, where you can publish them to your VideoNest website or use them as a basis for AI-generated article content.

Content Sources are managed under Media → Sources in the left navigation.

Connecting an MRSS Feed

To connect an MRSS source:

1. Go to Media → Sources in the app sidebar.
2. Click Connect Source and choose MRSS Feed.
3. Paste the full URL of the MRSS feed into the feed URL field.
4. Give the source a name so you can identify it in your Sources list.
5. Click Connect. VideoNest will immediately begin reading the feed and importing any videos it finds.

Once connected, VideoNest polls the feed automatically. New videos added to the source feed will appear in your Media Library within a short time of being published at the source. You don't need to trigger this manually.

Connecting an RSS Feed

To connect an RSS source for articles:

1. Go to Media → Sources in the app sidebar.
2. Click Connect Source and choose RSS Feed.
3. Paste the RSS feed URL and give the source a name.
4. Click Connect. VideoNest begins importing articles from the feed immediately.

Imported articles appear under Media → Articles. From there you can publish them directly to your VideoNest website or use them as a starting point for AI-generated article content tied to your videos. For more on how articles work, see Articles.

Managing Your Sources

The Sources list shows all connected sources with their type (MRSS or RSS), current status, and the timestamp of the last successful sync. From this view you can:

• View status — see whether the source is active and syncing correctly
• Pause a source — temporarily stop imports without disconnecting the feed
• Disconnect a source — permanently remove the connection; videos already imported remain in your library

If a sync fails — for example, because the feed URL changes or the source goes offline — you'll see an error status on the source. Update the URL or reconnect to resume syncing.

When to use Content Sources

Content Sources are the right tool when you manage video across multiple platforms and want VideoNest to stay current automatically. Common use cases include:

• A newsroom that publishes video on its own CMS and wants that content available for VideoNest distribution without re-uploading
• A media company with an existing video library on another hosting platform that wants to add VideoNest distribution feeds
• A content team that publishes articles via WordPress or another CMS and wants those articles importable into VideoNest for distribution or AI reprocessing
