Uploading Your First Video

Upload, import, or sync your first video into VideoNest.

Option 1: Direct upload

Open your channel's upload screen. Drag and drop your video file onto the upload area, or click to open the file picker.

Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and other common video containers. VideoNest transcodes your file on ingest for streaming delivery. Once processed, you can generate an embed code from the video detail page — see Embedding the Player for sizing and configuration options.

💡

Upload at the highest quality you have. VideoNest transcodes on ingest, so starting with a high-quality source provides the best output for all delivery formats.

Option 2: Sync from cloud storage

Choose Google Drive on the upload screen to select individual files. They download into your browser's upload workflow; this does not monitor a Drive folder for future files.

For ongoing ingestion, connect Dropbox from the import sources or configure an S3-compatible bucket as an ingest source. FTP / SFTP import is marked Coming soon; download those files and upload them from your computer. See Importing from Cloud Storage for each workflow.

After upload

Wait for upload and processing to finish, then open the video in your Media Library. Keep the upload page open until the transfer completes.

Click the video to open its detail page, where you can add a title, description, tags, and additional distribution metadata. See Metadata & Tagging for a full list of supported fields and how they map to distribution partners.

💡

Complete your metadata before distributing. Partners like Amazon Fire TV and MSN have minimum metadata requirements. Filling in title, description, tags, and a thumbnail before enabling a feed prevents rejections downstream.
