Uploading Your First Video

Upload, import, or sync your first video into VideoNest.

Option 1: Direct upload

Go to Media > Media Library and click Upload. Drag and drop your video file onto the upload area, or click to open the file picker.

Supported formats include MP4, MOV, and other common video containers. VideoNest transcodes your file on ingest for streaming delivery.

💡
Upload at the highest quality you have. VideoNest transcodes on ingest, so starting with a high-quality source gives you the best output for all delivery formats.

Option 2: Sync from cloud storage

If your videos live in Google Drive, an FTP server, or another cloud provider, you can connect that source and let VideoNest pull them in automatically.

Go to your Media Library and connect your cloud provider. VideoNest will import your video files and keep in sync as new content is added. See Importing from Cloud Storage for step-by-step instructions for each provider.

After upload

Your video will appear in the Media Library with a Processing status while VideoNest transcodes it. Once ready, the status changes to Ready.

Click the video to open its detail page, where you can add a title, description, tags, and additional distribution metadata.

💡
Complete your metadata before distributing. Partners like Amazon Fire TV and MSN have minimum metadata requirements. Filling in title, description, tags, and a thumbnail before enabling a feed prevents rejections downstream.
