Overview

CTV (Connected TV) distribution puts your content on smart TV platforms as a streaming channel. VideoNest generates the required feed automatically. Your job is to set up the feed in VideoNest and then submit it for approval through each platform's publisher process.

Step 1: Create a CTV feed

Go to Feeds (under Media) → Add New Feed → select Amazon Fire TV (or the relevant CTV platform) as the destination type. Configure your feed filters:

  • Resolution — CTV platforms typically require 720p minimum. Set accordingly.
  • Min / Max duration — filter out content that is too short or too long for your channel
  • Include old videos — toggle whether existing library content is included
  • Orientation — landscape is standard for CTV
  • Publishing frequency — sets the cadence for evergreen looping

Step 2: Complete your metadata

CTV platforms have specific metadata requirements. Before submitting, make sure every video in your feed has a title, description, thumbnail (16:9 aspect ratio), content rating, and categories. You can enable AI enhancements in the feed settings to automatically optimize metadata for the selected CTV platform.

Step 3: Get your feed URL

After saving the feed, your feed URL is shown on the feed detail page. You'll need this URL for the platform's submission process.

Step 4: Submit to the platform

Each CTV platform has its own channel submission process. You'll submit your feed URL through their developer or publisher portal. VideoNest does not manage the submission process — this step happens directly with the platform.

⚠️
CTV channels require approval

Every CTV platform reviews channel submissions before publishing. Review times vary by platform. Keep your library active and metadata complete to avoid rejection.

💡
Use a playlist to curate your channel

Add a playlist filter to control exactly which videos appear on your CTV channel. This lets you keep your full library separate from the curated content you want on TV.
