About Pluto TV
Pluto TV is a free, ad-supported streaming service owned by Paramount, available on smart TVs, mobile devices, and the web with over 80 million monthly active users. It operates as a linear TV-style platform — content is scheduled into channels that play on a 24/7 loop, similar to traditional cable TV, alongside an on-demand section. Content is ingested from partners via MRSS feeds.
Pluto TV acquires content through a partner inquiry process. This is not a self-serve tool — Pluto TV approves all content partnerships before ingestion.
Content requirements
- Video quality: Minimum 720p; 1080p strongly preferred
- Content type: Movies, TV series, sports, news, entertainment
- Volume: Enough content to sustain programming blocks; libraries with fewer than 20–30 videos may not qualify for a dedicated channel
- Ownership: Full distribution rights required for all submitted content
- Content ratings: Required on all content
- Closed captions: Required for all content
- Thumbnails: 16:9 aspect ratio, 1280×720 minimum
Step 1: Create a Pluto TV feed in VideoNest
Go to Media → Feeds → Create Feed → Video → Pluto TV. VideoNest generates a Pluto-compatible MRSS feed with all required fields, including content ratings, caption references, and duration metadata. Choose Automated to populate the feed from your full library automatically, or Custom to manually assign individual videos one by one (no filters are available in Custom mode).
Step 2: Contact Pluto TV
Pluto TV does not have a public self-serve submission form for new content partners. Visit pluto.tv/content-partnerships and use the inquiry form to introduce your content and include your VideoNest feed URL.
Pluto TV's content acquisition team will review your submission and reach out if your content is a good fit for their programming needs.
Pluto TV's format is linear TV-style programming blocks. Content that fits naturally into a themed channel — a cooking show, sports highlights, documentary series — performs better than a mixed-genre library. Curate a tight, themed playlist before applying.
