Workspaces
Manage multiple channels from a single account — with shared team access and centralized billing for agencies and enterprise customers.
What is a Workspace?
A Workspace is a special account type that allows you to manage multiple channels from a single VideoNest login. It's designed for agencies, media companies, and enterprise customers who operate more than one brand, client, or channel and need to manage them centrally without juggling separate accounts.
In a standard VideoNest account, one account maps to one channel. In a Workspace, one account contains multiple channels, each with its own independent library, distribution feeds, video website, and analytics. A Workspace includes a channel switcher to move between them, and allows you to grant team members access to specific channels or the full Workspace.
Channels vs. Accounts vs. Workspaces
Understanding the hierarchy helps avoid confusion:
- Account — your VideoNest login identity. Billing and settings live at the account level.
- Channel — the content unit. Every account has at least one channel. Your channel has its own library, website URL, feeds, and analytics.
- Workspace — an enterprise account type where one account contains multiple channels. Think of it as a management layer above individual channels.
If you're running one channel for your own brand, you don't need a Workspace. If you're managing VideoNest for five different clients or brands under one roof, a Workspace is the right fit.
Who Gets a Workspace?
Workspaces are available on enterprise plans. They are not enabled by default on standard plans, even if your plan technically supports multiple channels. To enable Workspace access for your account, contact VideoNest — your account manager or the support team will handle the setup.
Managing Channels in a Workspace
Once a Workspace is active, you'll see a channel switcher in the top navigation of the app. Click it to see all channels in your Workspace and switch between them. Each channel you switch to is a fully separate context — the Media Library, Feeds, Website, and Analytics you see are specific to that channel only. Changes in one channel don't affect any other channel.
From the Workspace admin view, you can:
- Create new channels within the Workspace
- Archive or disable channels you no longer need
- View a top-level summary of all channels (total views, videos, and activity across the Workspace)
Team Access in Workspaces
Team members in a Workspace can be granted access at two levels:
- Workspace-level access — the team member can access all channels in the Workspace. Typically used for account managers or administrators who need visibility across all clients or brands.
- Channel-level access — the team member can only access the specific channels you assign them to. Ideal for editors or producers who should only see and manage one client's content.
Role assignments (Admin, Editor, Viewer) apply within the scope of the access level. An Editor on Channel A has no visibility into Channel B unless explicitly granted. See Team Members & Permissions for the full breakdown of available roles.
If you're managing multiple brands or client channels, contact us to discuss Workspace access. Your account manager will confirm eligibility and handle the setup on your behalf.
