About Tubi

Tubi is one of the largest free, ad-supported streaming platforms in the United States, with over 80 million monthly active users across smart TVs, mobile devices, and the web. Content is ingested via MRSS feeds from approved content partners. Unlike Apple TV or Samsung TV+, Tubi has an application process open to independent content owners.

Content requirements

  • Video quality: Minimum 720p; 1080p preferred
  • Content type: Movies, TV series, news, sports, and general entertainment suitable for an ad-supported platform
  • Ownership: Full distribution rights for the United States (and any other territories specified)
  • Content ratings: Required on all content
  • Closed captions: Required for all content on Tubi
  • Thumbnails: 16:9 aspect ratio, minimum 1280×720
⚠️
Closed captions are required

Tubi requires closed captions on all content. Upload caption files in VideoNest before applying: Media → Library → [Video] → Captions.

Step 1: Create a Tubi feed in VideoNest

Go to Media → Feeds → Create Feed → Video → Tubi. VideoNest generates a Tubi-compatible MRSS feed with the required fields, including content ratings, caption references, and series metadata. Choose Automated to populate the feed from your full library automatically, or Custom to manually assign individual videos one by one (no filters are available in Custom mode).

Step 2: Get your feed URL

After saving, your feed URL appears on the feed detail page in Media → Feeds. This is the URL you'll submit to Tubi.

Step 3: Apply to become a Tubi content partner

Submit your application through Tubi's content partner portal at tubitv.com/content-partners. During the application you will be asked to provide your feed URL, a description of your content library, and information about your distribution rights.

Tubi's content team reviews all applications. Once approved, Tubi will ingest your VideoNest feed and your content will appear on the platform.

💡
Tubi is ad-supported — all ad delivery is handled by Tubi

Tubi monetizes your content through their own advertising. Depending on your agreement, you may receive a revenue share from ad impressions. You do not need to configure any ad settings in VideoNest for Tubi distribution.
