Switching from Vimeo to VideoNest gives you built-in monetization, direct audience management, and automated distribution to platforms Vimeo doesn't touch. The migration itself is straightforward. VideoNest's team handles the transfer so you're not manually re-uploading hundreds of videos.
Here's exactly how the process works.
Step 1: Sign Up
Create a VideoNest Starter Plan account. Your account includes hosting, player customization, email capture, SEO tools, and access to VideoNest's distribution and monetization programs. You don't need to configure anything in advance. The account is ready for content as soon as you sign up.
Step 2: Request a CSV Export from Vimeo
Contact Vimeo Support to request a CSV export of your library. The export will contain your video titles, descriptions, download links, publish dates, and privacy settings. Vimeo typically provides this within a few business days. Keep the file. You'll send it directly to VideoNest in the next step.
Step 3: Send the CSV to VideoNest
Email the CSV file to services@videonest.co. The VideoNest team manages the entire transfer: downloading your videos from Vimeo's servers, preserving metadata (titles, descriptions, publish dates), and uploading everything into your new VideoNest dashboard. You don't need to download anything locally or re-upload files yourself. For large libraries, the team will confirm an expected timeline before starting.
Step 4: Review and Start Publishing
Once the migration completes, you'll receive confirmation and can log in to review your library. Check that titles, descriptions, and thumbnails transferred correctly. Most do automatically, but it's worth a quick scan before going live. From this point, any new content you create goes directly into VideoNest. Your distribution and monetization settings take effect immediately on the migrated library.
Step 5: Cancel Vimeo
After confirming all content has transferred successfully, cancel your Vimeo subscription. Most teams give themselves a week of overlap to verify everything looks right before closing the Vimeo account. Once you're confident, there's no reason to keep paying for a platform you've replaced.
What Changes After You Migrate
Your videos are now on infrastructure that earns. VideoNest automatically distributes eligible content to partner platforms, generates ad revenue from views, and collects viewer emails for your list. None of that requires any additional setup. It activates on the content already in your library. Vimeo doesn't offer any of this at comparable price points.
