START WITH YOUR VIDEOS
Upload your videos to VideoNest
For OBS video import from your hosted library, upload your files to VideoNest first. Add the player or feed URL to OBS without downloading each video to your production computer. For a local file, OBS has its own Media Source option.

OBS Browser Source
The single-video setup below uses an ordinary player. No linear stream setup is required.
For video input into OBS, add a video on demand (VOD) player or a live HLS feed generated from your prerecorded lineup. Upload first, then follow the setup below. This guide covers hosted VOD playback and VOD-to-live, not external camera or RTMP feeds.

Choose your video and player
Open Media → Player in VideoNest. Select your player profile and the Single Video tab. Choose a public, non-hidden hosted video.
Copy the player webpage URL
Set your supported player options and choose Copy Embed Code. Take only the webpage URL inside the iframe src, not the full iframe or script markup.
Add a Browser Source in OBS
Under Sources, choose +, then Browser. Paste your player URL and set the width and height for your scene. Preview playback and audio; use Interact to play or unmute if needed.
Browser Source needs the player webpage URL, not an .m3u8 feed. Autoplay and audible playback may require interaction.
Open your channel’s Linear Streams area. Use Channels or Videos to choose your sources, then reorder the lineup. Keep Loop the lineup enabled for repeated playback.
Save and start your stream
Save your lineup, then choose Start stream. Copy the generated Media Source input URL from Use in OBS. The feed plays only while your stream is running.
Add a Media Source in OBS
Under Sources, choose +, then Media Source. Untick Local File and paste your generated URL into Input. Confirm playback and audio in your scene before broadcasting.
Choose public, published, non-hidden videos with unrestricted access and compatible hosted media. Uploading a file alone does not make it eligible for the feed.

KEEP YOUR LINEUP PLAYING
How to loop video in OBS.
For a hosted sequence, enable Loop the lineup in VideoNest’s VOD-to-live workflow. Your selected videos play in order, then repeat while the stream runs.
For example, an interview, a feature, and a recap can form one repeating program. Update your selection and apply changes when you want a different lineup. New uploads do not automatically join a running feed.

OBS can loop a local file directly with its Media Source Loop setting. Restart playback when source becomes active is a separate setting; it does not loop your VideoNest lineup.

Preview your scene and confirm both playback and audio in OBS. Start your VOD-to-live stream before expecting feed playback. A browser player can start muted or require interaction. Use OBS Interact to play or unmute it when needed.
Upload your videos to VideoNest first, then add a player webpage URL as an OBS Browser Source or your generated feed as a Media Source. OBS plays the hosted source without downloading each video to your production computer. A file already on your computer can use OBS Media Source directly.
Yes. Add a hosted video on demand through a customized player, or arrange eligible prerecorded videos into a live HLS feed with VOD-to-live. For VideoNest VOD-to-live, save and start your stream, then copy the Media Source input URL from Use in OBS. In OBS, add a Media Source, untick Local File, and paste the URL into Input. Keep the stream running and check playback and audio before broadcasting.
